When Henry and Lisa Lovejoy started EcoFish, the parent company of Freshé and Henry & Lisa’s Natural
Seafood 25 years ago, no one was talking about sustainable seafood. Fueled by their love for the
oceans, they created a mission-driven company providing only the most sustainable, highest quality and
delicious seafood.
EcoFish was the first seafood supplier in the United States to gain Marine Stewardship Council Chain of Custody certification in 2001, and in 2021 the MSC awarded Henry & Lisa Lovejoy the U.S. Ocean Champion Award for their continued dedication to seafood sustainability and going above and beyond the requirements of MSC standards.

EcoFish is committed to supporting the environment by sourcing from only certified sustainable fisheries.

The blue MSC (Marine Stewardship Council) label is only applied to wild fish or seafood from fisheries that have been certified to the MSC Fisheries Standard, a set of requirements for sustainable fishing. MSC certified fisheries minimize their impacts on the whole marine environment to ensure healthy, thriving oceans for the future.

ASC (Aquaculture Stewardship Council) develops and manages the strictest standards in the industry. These standards include requirements covering the potential impacts of the farms on the environment, the workers, animal welfare and the surrounding communities.
